Why « Les 400 Coups »?
« Les 400 Coups » is the perfect name, bringing together three themes that are dear to the club: the moves played (a reference to chess), the expression “faire les 400 coups” (literally « to play 400 moves »,which means « to raise hell », a pun with the polyphony of the word « coup » in French), which reflects the spirit we want to bring to the Festival, and the link with the history of the city of Montauban (which is where the expression
comes from!).
